Mark Vander Laan joined OJPC as Litigation Director in May 2019. Mark has over forty years of experience at major law firm Dinsmore & Shohl. Most notably, he was the lead special prosecutor for the state of Ohio after the savings and loan system collapsed. He helped secure convictions for those who contributed to the savings and loan crisis.
Mark hopes to provide litigation guidance from the perspective of somebody who has worked within the courts for a long time on a wide range of cases. “It doesn’t matter if a case is civil or criminal; you learn how to strategize, when to litigate, and when to not. Those are the types of things I can bring to the table.”
Mark is a former Chair of OJPC’s Board of Directors.
Mark still serves as outside counsel for Dinsmore & Shohl.
