Marais Jacon-Duffy joined OJPC in Feb. 2018 after several years in the news industry. She worked for three years at WCPO – Channel 9 in Cincinnati, was an intern for the Cincinnati Enquirer, freelanced for the Southside Times in Indianapolis and ran her college newspaper, the Butler Collegian. She worked for one legislative session at the Indiana House of Representatives, primarily focused on social media. Marais is an alumna of Little Miami High School and Butler University. She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in journalism and political science with a concentration in English writing at Butler in Dec. 2014.

As OJPC’s communications manager, Marais tells clients’ stories on various platforms and generates interest in smart criminal justice reform for Ohio. This job allows Marais to pursue her passions: writing, law and advocacy.
